This is the first Large Square my mother made (from left-over threads of her pre-coloured grids, look at the Tab "Early work".

My mother started making the large squares in 1984.
I used to make cushions of them, and later on she started to make backsides that were also cross-stitched, in a certain quick-and-dirty way. Your can see those at the Tab "Backsides".
Most of the following squares are very worn, some of them are never used as cushio and they are in much better shape.

Next one my mother made for my son Rob, when he was three and all into cars and traffic signs.
The backside was made in his favorite colors, i.e. blue and yellow.

Next one was made for my daughter Francis when she was three. She chose as favourite colors lilac, purple, pink, gold and silver

Toen mijn dochter Francis ongeveer 3 jaar was mocht ze haar lievelingskleuren noemen voor een eigen kussentje: het werd natuurlijk rose, paars, goud en zilver.

  

This one is VERY worn, it's a [ity since it is my favorite one. Maybe, one day, I will try to make a copy. However, this is a very large square.
